MIKAH KOTA CARPIO /

MIKAH KOTA CARPIO (he/they) is a bilingual, NYC-based theatrical sound designer, live audio engineer (A1), audio/visual technician, IATSE Local 59 stagehand apprentice, systems designer, collage artist, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer. WARNING: Hair color may vary.

As a sonic artist, Mikah uplifts marginalized voices across live mediums including New York theatre, musicals, and touring productions. Their sound design is guided by reflection and instinct, and by a belief in the power of music and soundscapes to interrogate and dismantle social injustice.

When he isn’t working (or thinking about work), he is training his two Holland Lop bunnies to assistant sound design. Updates to come.

UPCOMING: PEERLESS at Fordham University (dir. Lisa Virginia), POP! (dir. Kamau Nosakhere), and MSU Tent Theater’s Summer 2026 Season (A1).
