ABOUT MIKAH
Raised by two Ecuadorian-born parents, Mikah’s earliest memories were soundscapes— music floating in from the kitchen on Sunday mornings, dancing on their father’s feet, tuning radio frequencies in car rides just to hear the gentle crackle of static. All their life, they have naturally gravitated to music, to performance, and above all, the community that live audio is capable of.
From the beginning, Mikah has followed sound wherever it went. They knew this life— this career— was meant for them the second their hands touched a soundboard and controlled a fader for the first time (the same board pictured above!). It is an honor to do this work every day— and no, it never stopped being the cool job ever.
Mikah has had the privilege of working with IATI Theater, The Flea Theater, and Teatro SEA as a freelance audio/visual technician, soundboard operator, and A2. Through their work with IATSE Local 59, they’ve also worked with large-scale stadiums and arena productions as local crew for some of the most recognizable names in music— Drake, Missy Elliot, Mary J. Blige, Blake Shelton, Justin Timberlake, Travis Scott, and Anuel AA.
They are currently pursuing their B.A. in Sound Design at Fordham University.
